BGBC Hong Kong Mission History
We are thankful for God’s faithfulness in this fourth Mission Anniversary. Without the Vision of our respected Pastor James Estenilo from Bordergate Baptist Church in Macau, the mission may not Exist. Without Vision the People perish. Without the Church in Bordergate Baptist Church from Macau, the mission may not survive. T he church have the heart in the Mission fields, including here in Hong Kong that is why we are thankful that they send us preacher Brother Noel and his Wife sis Gina had been leading us to labour for the Ministry here in Hong Kong for the past three years.
The first mission Anniversary’s theme was Philippians 1:27 Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you,or else be absent, I. May hear your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith if the gospel; This theme was our guide on our walk in the mission where we spent most of the days in streets, bridges, fiery piers, on top of the IFC mall, in the parks, and going around passing out tracts, soul winning and involving our selves to the lives. Some took an advantage of us, some accept the word of God, some learned and went abroad in Canada, Russia, Taiwan while others went back in Philippines. Now, they communicate with us asking for discipleship lesson material because they hunger on the word of God. While some asked for direction to attend baptist church in their locality if available.
The second Mission Anniversary’s theme was Colossians 2:7 Rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught abounding therein with thanksgiving. Our theme was our inspiration in moving on, discipleship lesson was offered, devotion, bible study and soul wining outreach in remote area like Yuen long in New territories which is far from Hong Kong side where we usually evangelize.
Labouring in the mission field is not easy for we were also tested with many circumstances. A test that had proven our faithfulness despite the threat on our physical health, our job, our number, our situations in life. Despite of storms in each life; The Lord did never forsake nor forget us to suffer in those times. Like last year, just after the third mission Anniversary; our preacher Bro Noel Villianueva was attacked with mild stroke. Right after it alarmed the mission, it broke our hearts that brought us on our knees to be more prayerful. On that time the sending church from Macau send Bro. Arminio Gomalot (bro. Jojo) to preach to us. His presence was an encouragement to every one to participate in soul winnings while Bro. Noel was being treated for four months.
May 1, 2014 Came along Bro. John Carlo Chino Real with Brother Arminio for the soul winning activity. This was the first time that the mission saw and heard violin played by Bro. Chino. We are blessed and motivated to pursue learning musical instruments which by the grace of God we are now going to play today, yet still on the process of learning. We are inspired and encouraged. Our hearts rejoice in The Lord that is why every one commit ourselves in the ministry. We are thankful to The Lord, that the church send brother Chino for He became a blessing both in preaching and in Music ministry and to assist brother Noel here in the Mission.
From the start of the mission we go for evangelism. We tried to reach some Chinese people through Chinese tracts. But say to say that many of them don’t really know who is Jesus Christ and refused him. However, we don’t lose hope. We witness to them through our testimonies as a servant being obedient that we may reflect the Lord Jesus to them. Most of the members have a good testimonies that we witness to our employers and their family with their Children. Some family had been reading our life and convinced that they let their children be thought in Christian School. Parents allow us also to teach and read to them Bible stories and asked us to help them on their assignment regarding the Bible if needed.
God had been so Good to us all here in Hong Kong mission. We are blessed in many different ways and we believe the quote of Pastor James Estenilo “the best is yet to come”. Amen.
